Unexpected crash
It’s been a while since we put more news or published on the site.
The reason is that we had an accident with the heavyweight on October 22 in Lahore Pakistan.
We are all safe and sound, including dogs.
After about 6 days of crossing Pakistan, we arrived in Lahore, North of Pakistan where we had to cross the border to switch to India.
Our police escort was left us there (we have been escorted since we entered Pakistan). Happy to find our freedom but also tired by these long days of road, we decided to ride to Wagha, sleep there and attack the crossing of the border the next morning.
So we were about twenty kilometers from India when I took a bridge with 19 tones.
I entered a concrete underpass at 60km / h. I did not see anything coming. The underpass before was high enough, it was a slight descent, in the flow of traffic, I did not even register the signs that are not at all obvious, …
It made the sound of a terrible explosion. Smoke. And miraculously nobody around. The rest of the team was not glued to me thankfully because the roof opened like a tin of sardines and exploded on the road. And for those who didn’t know my truck, my roof was very heavy!
The engine has nothing, the box is totally dead.
After the shock, we made the decision with Daan and the rest of the team to continue.
Since October 22, we are working tirelessly on the fabrication of a new insulated box.
We met great people in this nightmare. They welcomed us into their company. We have a secure place to work and sleep, all the necessary tools and their help.
I did not want to talk about it before. I could not. I needed to start digesting. Keeping concentration in those moments is also very important.
On November 10, the rest of the team headed back to Nepal. Me and Daan will finish the work in Lahore and join them a few weeks later.
It’s a monstrous job that we have done in a fortnight. We can finish in pairs with Daan.
It will be easier to have an Indian visa to redo, mine, rather than 7!
And the journey continues, it’s time for a team to join Nepal to set the stage for New Year’s Day!
This article is short and without details. It’s voluntary on my part, writing asks me for energy and I have to save myself in order to finish rebuilding our house.
I want to pay great respect and love to my man and our team, it is you who give me the strength to continue and you know it.
Endless thanks to the people who help us and treat us as their families here in Pakistan.
We wanted to give you news through this article but also give you a message that you should never give up. Fight for your dreams.
Martin Luther King said: “IF YOU CAN NOT FLY, THEN RUN, IF YOU CAN NOT RUN, THEN GO, IF YOU CAN NOT WALK, THEN RUN, BUT WHAT YOU DO, YOU MUST CONTINUE TO MOVE.” and we will continue to drive!
The new massive box!
